GET OVER 2004

Contributor : Dawn Fung

Ed : Get over your disappointment in 2004. 2004 was a symbolic year of stress and disappointment for many. This prophecy was written at that time of transition to 2005, where things would accelerate to take on a different and positive nature. This article is helpful also for the workers of the harvest field to hope on God's promises and not give up, to be open to the new ways of adapting and growing the field.

This has been a growing year and you have felt the exhaustion of work, ministry and family. You have been tired from ministering to other people while not getting food for yourself. This service has been at the expense of your plans and ambitions that seem not to extend as smoothly as you have thought. You have, in the course of 2004, given your best but it has not been as clear cut as you want.

In 2005 things will accelerate. What you have been planting and sowing in the past two years will spurt next year. You will find co-labourers and like-minded people to rally to your vision. Be careful because strategic alliances take time to grow. You will not be too rash to make promises that you cannot keep.

This is a good year to reflect on who God is. Why does He let you use his name for various events and purposes and not object? Why does God let you use 'God' in every function, sentence or group? You have the favour and grace of God to find out.

Christians in the arts will be activated to be mobilised for the gospel. They will find themselves in opportunities that look handsome but must be guardedly prayed over. There are many ways to go but there must be affirmation from God, and counsel. Do not be misled by exterior signs that look 'evangelism-friendly'. You might detour and find out later.

Opportunities will be tested in 2005 deeply. What you have sowed this year will grow in 2005 with the watchful eyes of many people. 'Do what you said you would do' and 'be accountable' - those will be catch phrases repeated to yourself and your co-labourers.

One thing is needed in 2005 - that is, to dwell in the house of the Lord and to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord. Dwell in the house of God and be content in his presence. You do his work while he does yours - meaning that you rest in his presence while the Holy Spirit will supernaturally empower you to make decisions with good time management and sound judgment. You will be rested in the Lord and see how he brings people together to be mobilise for his kingdom.

Kingdom expansion will come strategically - Christian artists will find themselves as 'artreprenuers', with the tools to make business and art at their disposal. They will use these tools to advance themselves financially and geographically in order to be mobile for the gospel. They will be ready to adapt themselves to the business culture of Singapore as opportunities rise to meet other people from business and IT industries.

There will be crossroads of ideas as Christian artists meet with other peers from churches. Ministries will expand and deepen as these people find themselves defining a church with no walls. Community will happen as ideas merge regarding what the kingdom of God is. There will be resources coming from those crossroads of ideas. Those resources will bring about further training and development for artists who need the sharpening.

Do not be afraid for what comes in 2005. Stop playing God and let God do his part. Get over your disappointment of seedlings in 2004 and watch them grow next year.
