Because

Writers : Daniel Ang and Annabelle Bok

What makes two individuals from different backgrounds come together and hold fast to each other in the face of monumental opposition? Love does.

The love of God overflowing, turning despair into hope and darkness to light, lending strength to belief and passion to conviction, such that two can face an army of fierce resistance and say, with hand tightly grasped in hand, "We will get through this."

This song was written for a couple on their wedding, with hopes and prayers that it not only captures their heartsong for each other, but also serves as a reminder that with God - and His unfailing love - in the picture, love can never fail.

Because

Because in every feathered thing
That flies the sky this side of heaven
Winging through the breath of God
I see your smile

Because in every twinkling star
That lights the earth this side of heaven
Burning from the touch of God
I see your eyes

Eternity stands still this moment
Pausing in its endless flow
And all creation pauses to behold
The sealing of this vow

Today I place my hand in yours
With fervant hope ablaze in song
To step into forever's chorus
To soar with the angelic throng

Because in every tender wind
That wanders through the quiet paths
Sighing with the voice of God
I feel your soul

Annabelle and Daniel recently performed at Pollen, a local singer-songwriters series. "Because" was one of the songs featured.
